Directions
Step 1
If purchasing turnips from a grocery store, peel off the tough, waxy skin. If they are fresh from a farmers' market or your garden, just wash them well as the skins should be tender.
Step 2
Cut off both ends of the turnips, then cut them in half. Slice the halves into 3/4-inch-thick slices, resulting in semi-circles. Use a paring knife to peel the skin off each slice if needed, or skip this step if leaving the skin on.
Step 3
Cut each slice into cubes. Scatter the cubes on a parchment-lined baking sheet, ensuring enough space between them for heat to reach each surface.
Step 4
In a large bowl, toss the cubed turnips with your infused olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add your favorite seasonings if desired. Place the turnips in a preheated 400-degree oven and roast until the edges of each cube turn toasty brown, approximately 20-30 minutes.
